Member Identification
President Bush recently passed the USA PATRIOT ACT, which is a federal legislation enacted to counter international money-laundering and terrorism. This affects your credit union by requiring that MMCU identify and verify the identification of all members having an account at MMCU. This includes both share and loan accounts. The regulation affects new accounts or new signers on an account and all existing accounts. One way that MMCU must comply to this legislation is to have a copy of each member's valid driver's license. As we update our records, we will ask to get copies of each member's driver's license.
